..... I have been able to see some more images of the Moebius '65 Nova "Gasser" ........... it's a really interesting piece, rather nice looking ........ however, what continues to confuse me is the whole concept ....... in all my 14 years of racing (from 1965 to 1979), I don't recall ever seeing a '65 Nova decked out as a gasser ...... I saw lots of Novas as match race cars, as factory experimental cars ( /FX), as experimental stock cars ( /XS), as altered wheelbase early funny cars, as stock and super stock cars ..... but I can't remember a single gasser. That's not to say there weren't any, but I don't recall any in my stomping grounds, NHRA Divisions 4, 5, 7, and occasionally 6. I even went through my books about drag racing back in the '60's and '70's (including the bible of gasser books, "Gasser Wars" by Larry Davis), and I only saw one picture of a gasser running against a Nova (and it was a 409 powered A/FX Nova) at Seattle in 1965.
They would have to do battle with Willys', Austins, Anglias, '32 Fords, Opel GT's, and a host of other cars that were lighter and much more capable in the Gas classes ..... the 55-56-57 Chevrolets were better equipped to handle the mid to lower gas classes with their light weight and longer wheelbase (saw plenty of those)......... and the Moebius test shot shows a blown and injected car. That doesn't seem to be a logical choice for a supercharged gasser.
Just my rambling thoughts, but for those of us to try to build replicas of actual cars that competed during those times, this Moebius offering is somewhat of a letdown ....... maybe it can be converted to something other than a gasser
