50th Anniversary build, Landy's '68 Charger. DONE DONE DONE!

Been doing the little bits as fill in. The Landy extended Pinion snubber that actually almost made the rear a rigid mount, twin electric fuel pumps, Landy built oil pan and the severely notched K frame.
Got a bad set of kit decals and an iffy set of Slixx, so I'm going to have to paint the Red and Teal stripes.

Had to re do the oil pan to correct it's shape,I'll post some pick of the Hemi so far.
Now the major problem (at least to me) Landy's 68 Charger was an extremely early production model and the dash needs a big modification to a pointed dash pad and the instrument panel is lined. That's the next major redo.

There is definitely a difference. Looks like quite a bit of customizing. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished dash!

Dash is 80% done, still a bit more texture on the instrument bezel. The modification was to sand off the top of the dash pad. Make a new pad from .030 plastic. 3.5mm to 6mm in the center. After it was dry, I added an other piece of .030 on the bottom 2.5mm in the center to nothing on the ends. All total time wise about 1/2 hour.
Chassis and Hemi are half done for the details, still a bit more to to. Re did the oil pan and put in a piece of 3/32 brass tube for the center link to pass through. Had to make an entire distributor with the dual cable drives. One for the tach and the short one goes to the scratch built mechanical rev limiter and bracket. Made the fuel lines and T fitting or the WCFB's and Landy's shop made remote oil filter set up. Still have ti add the carb linkage and throttle cable.
Made up the "legal" street exhaust from 1/16" rod and 1/8" tubing with a 1/8 x 1/8" hanger brackets. Also added is the flanges to un bolt the pipes from the header collectors.

The Silver cured enough to start taping off for the Teal Metallic Pearl stripes. I've got the interior assembled and need to touch up the Red Line Lock button on the shifter. Pleased with the dash pad modifications. Got to see about a better pic of the "street exhaust" (previous post), the flanges I made for removing the pipes barely show up in the pic, only the color line.

Today's project was drilling 40 .015 holes for Tichy Trains .020 pan head screws. Ten on each side of the rear wheels to "lock" the slicks from spinning on the wheels, adding valve stems and doing the Raised White letters for all the tires. Paul

First part of the stripe on. Not a fan of Testers Acryl for bodies, but after cure it will buff out. Than comes the Red.
