Hi everybody. Glad to see a board dedicated to straight line cars. Hoping to see lots of good vintage reference photos like they post over on Randy's Nascar board. That stuff is invaluable.

Hi, My first name is Scott. My user ID is probably recognizeable to several of you, since I've posted pics of a project that I've been working on for a long, long time: a Fairmont Futura. It's really my first major effort at model building after being away from the hobby for a long time. It's taken me going on three years since I began working on it. My first interest has been drag racing, originally 1:1, and now in 1/24-25 scale. Pro street would take second place in my interest, both 1:1 and models. I owned a '74 Maverick pro streeter back in the late 70s to early 80s. It was powered by a 351C and now have a '79 Fairmont Futura sport coupe, again motivated by a 351C. Not surprisingly, Glidden, Nicholson, Feurer, et al are my favorite racers. Door slammers are definitely my thing. Other hobbies include collecting WWII army air force memorabilia/militaria, and reading about the same; I sing baritone in a men's barbershop chorus; I'm also involved in various aspects of singing at our church. There! You know more about me more than just about anyone by my wife and immediate family! S

Hello, all.... My name is Alex, and I, too, am a modelaholic. I build just about anything that trips my trigger, but mostly drag cars. I used to run my '67 Hemi GTX in the mid-'70's at the Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. Now I just spectate....and build. Alex

Hi Folks! Name is Mike, been building plastic on & off for over 40 years. Drag cars, especially from the 60s, are some of my favorite subjects. Haven't actually finished anything drag related lately, but coming retirement should change that. I have Dyno Don's Eliminator I '66 Comet (the FIRST real funny car) spread over the bench for the past year or so. Seems a pretty active site - I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys are building, and sharing tips and ideas.
By the way, I have ALL SAE/SA since issue 3, Car Model from late 68-end and most Model Cars if anyone needs a particular article - PM me.

Danged nice to have you here Mike. I find drag cars from the 60's are also some of my favorite subjects as well and Super Stocks especially seem to top that list. Dunno why, but those old cars just seem to get it for me. We look forward to getting to know you better in the future and also seeing your work as well. Jump right in and have fun! Again, welcome to the forums!!!
