I was really looking for the '61 Impala, but happened to run across this one. I got it delivered to the house for well under the usual eBay prices. Made a best offer and a counter and it was mine. Couldn't say no. I already have one or two in the stash. Might end up building this as a 70s muscle car with some Cragar SS wheels.

If you need a 61 Chevy, go for the AMT newest issue. It it the Lindberg 61, but has added parts such as the drag goodies and nice set of mags. It also has the corrected cowl that some of the Lindberg ones on E Bay are lacking. Kind of a E Bay Russian Roulette as Lindberg corrected the cowl early on but a ton are still out there being sold. I've been watching the new AMT kits, Paul. Unfortunately the majority of those kits seem to be selling on eBay and elsewhere for over $30 with the shipping added on. I'm an old tight a** that tries to buy kits at $15 or less. Since I'm still really just adding kits to my stash, that's what I'm looking for right now in early 60s horsepower wars cars. But yeah, I did notice what the newer AMT kit was offering. As I start building some of the early 60s cars I have in the stash, I might very well add an AMT kit.

Just now won this on eBay. Delivered to the front door for 14 bucks. I'm about 99% sure this will eventually be built as a Junior Stock or Super Stock, period correct car so I don't necessarily want a really nice set of mags on it. Maybe mags on the front and chromies on the rear or something similar. Might even end up with painted steelies on it. It won't be a Nicholson car. It will be a "home town hero" type build.

Hey Paul, you mentioned that some of the lindburg 61 Chevys have an incorrect cowl... how do i know what is correct or incorrect? The first runs had an incorrect shaped cowl, hood and windshield. It was corrected after the inital run of 10,000 kits. The original is on the left and corrected on the right. Hosted on Fotki
