Just a thought, has anyone ever used this old Revell kit To build this car? Just thinking out loud, that Austen kit can be had on eBay for not too much denaro.

Nope but I don't see why it couldn't work. You're only going to use the shell basically anyway. Only question is isn't that one of Revell's old multi piece bodys? Of course that wouldn't stop you just makes it a little more work. I like the idea!

I'm liking the idea too. I wouldn't consider doing that at this stage of model building I'm at, but I'd sure like to see what one, or more, of you guys could come up with. Maybe 2 or more of you guys could do a "Community Build" type project. Go at it with "no holds barred" rules. Us newbies would love seeing what you more experienced builders could do.
Hey, just a thought guys. LOL!

David, Wow. exceptional build. Now, I'm not asking you to rob parts off that because that would be sacrilege.
I was really just trying to put out ONE idea for anyone looking for an interesting build idea (outside of box-stock) and perhaps a way to achieve it. I'm weird and that is just how I engage in modeling.

No problem! I build a lot of things that are so far outside the box I just have to make my own box!

OldCoyote build one like that, I think it's on here. The big thing with the Healey's and the MG-A's was SBC and SBF in them for both street racers, gassers and Street Roadster classes. A blown SBC on fuel would kill a big block for at least 3/4 of the track with a toss up on who won. On a small town semi smooth track garrented win every time against BBC and Hemi's.

Once knew a guy that had an AH 300 done up gasser with a straight axle. No engine at the time, but SB Chevy was planned. Probably sitting in someone's backyard now, wasting away.

A guy just has to wonder how many decent drag cars ARE in a backyard wasting away.
