Managed to pick this up for under 20 bucks delivered to the door. I've got a couple of other Catalina kits in my stash that will be built as early 60s drag cars. I'll build this mostly box stock as a factory stock car. I've got one of the other "ProShop" predecorated cars on my bench right now. I figured they would be pretty cheap kits with not much detail, but they really aren't that bad. Other than the body being prepainted and predecorted, the rest of the parts/pieces are fairly nice. With just a little extra TLC I think they can be made to look fairly nice.

New plan needed, I guess. This kit arrived today. Apparently my eyes are getting worse than I thought. This is supposed to be a low rider, I'm guessing. I couldn't tell in the photos of the kit that the top of the roof, hood, and trunk have a sort of "frosted" paint applied. I also missed that the wheels are smooth chrome jobs like seen on low riders. What's really weird to me is the exhaust. It has a complete dual exhaust system and also has cut outs. The instructions show connecting the cut outs to side pipes. I have never seen a full exhaust and side pipes on the same car before. That's not a problem since I can just not put the side pipes on the car. Or I might cut the ends off the side pipes to have short exhaust pipes connected to the cut outs to exit the under side of the car. Looks like this will turn out to be a muscle car of some sorts when I'm done with it. I'll plan on using either a set of Cragar SS Mags or a set of B'n'L American Mags with aftermarket tires.
