It's been a while since I've seen any kits on eBay at what I consider really great pricing. I spied this one and got it for 17 bucks delivered to the door. First chance I've had to buy anything on eBay for under $20 total in quite a little while. Seller says it's sealed inside so it should be a good deal. I've gotten a little gun shy buying on eBay too. I had a couple of bad deals with sellers, but only got stung on one in the end. I don't know anything about this kit, but I figure any model car collection should have a Split Window Sting Ray in it.

Maybe I'll keep my eye open for another one.

Well, fudge! A little while ago I got a message from the seller on this deal. He said he was sorry, but when he went to package it for shipping he saw that the kit was NOT sealed inside and he wasn't sure if all the parts were there. So this deal got canceled. So I'm STILL looking for a '63 Split Window. I'll run across one at some point in the future.

I already had the regular AMT kit in my watch list. Had missed that USA kit. I've got an offer in now. Hopefully we won't have to do any counter offers.

OK. I got the USA-1 'Vette for 23 bucks delivered to the door. Not the best deal I've ever made, but it seems like all the 63 'Vettes have been selling for over $30 delivered and I wanted one so settled for $23. That's still not too bad and I get to mark another kit off my "want list". Thanks for the heads up on that kit!

The AMT '63 Vette reissue that you have pictured is available at Hobby Lobby. With the 40% coupon it sells for $17.99 plus tax. The primary problem with that particular Vette is the everything molded chassis.

The chassis won't be a problem for me. Everything I build will be displayed in individual display cases with doors shut and hood down. The models will also be twist tied to the bottom of the display case. Nobody will ever see the bottom side of any of my builds. For the most part, I'm building curbside models for my own enjoyment. There will be a VERY limited number of family and friends that ever see my builds. I got back into the hobby only because my health issues prevent me from doing all the things I use to do and I needed something to take up some time.
I wish I had a Hobby Lobby or ANY hobby type store near me. The nearest one is about an hour and 45 minutes away. By the time I add on gas and aggravation, it turns out that ordering online is less expensive and definitely less time consuming. It's the price I pay for living in a small, rural town.
