I'm starting on the reissue of the polar lights Mongoose 69 Baracuda funny car. I'm not real familiar with vintage funny cars so I was wondering how close the kit was to the real car. If there are any areas of concern that need fixed to be accurate. Also any good suggestions for colors. Thanks in advance.

I have 3 of these in my stash. The kit is pretty accurate, but pay attention when you put the frame together. It's real easy to "tweak" it the wrong way, and you will wind up with a wheel ( or two ) hovering off the ground. As for color's , Testor's "Classic White" ... I forget what Blue was closest..... Give me a day to dig around in my "Pile - o - stuff" and I'll get back to you.

Sorry I took so long getting back to you ( my workshed is a DISASTER) I used Testors Classic White and Arctic Blue Metallic. It took two coat's of the Arctic Blue to get the right "Depth" to the paint to look right. Hope this help's. B.T.W.: There are some COOL extra part's in the kit, You have to decide what version of the car you want to build, ( mostly just decal variant's ) Then the "spare's " can go on anything else you want to 'customize. I passed on the decal headlight's, and used the kit's headlight housing's ( I just thought it looked cooler that way.)
