This is My Lindberg 66 Chevelle build . the Lindberg kit was a really great kit. i added a scoop from Johan Comet and radiused the wheel wells. this also my first try at a vinyl top . I sprayed the entire car with metal flake silver then cleared everything except the roof so the black will have a texture, the ribs are made by overlapping coats of paint with a masking parting line . saw that idea on you tube I think it was "The muscle car modeler."
Lots of modified kit bashed parts, starting underneath . the dana 60 was fashioned from the kit stocker rear axle with scraps of plastic and putty and the rear end cover from the Johan sox and martin barracuda. ladder bars are shortened Badman items the rear wheels are also from Badman, driveshaft modified kit part driveshaft loop scratch built, Lakewood bellhousing from Monogram 66 Chevelle kit as are the tunnel ram and valve covers. deep oil pan made from kit pan and styrene. My biggest problem with this kit was trying to find headers to fit . I used a highly modified set from AMT 66 nova pro street kit. Engine details are aftermarket parts and scratch built cool can , fuel lines , throttle linkage with spring. Scratch built tach, roll bar seat belts . front wheels from an old MPC challenger kit. and other things I may have forgotten about
A car like this was common at my local tracks back in the late 60's early 70's This doesn't represent any car I know of it is strictly from my imagination . the chassis and interior is blue because the crazy paint job was usually something that is laid down on a race car back then over the stock paint and the car was originally blue . Back then racers didn't build a car like this from the ground up full restoration they just built a used car slapped an engine in it some other speed parts and went racing. the paint jobs were usually an afterthought.
I don't think this fits any of the classes stockers SS or Mp's but I couldnt figure any place else to put it . I know my pictures are terrible sorry
