Welcome Gary. I see you have the Old Color Me Gone car up. Started on that one myself several years ago, but I wasn't ready for all the scratch building it took to build it.

Hello everyone! My name is Steve. How many "Steve's" are in this group? Anyway...I'm 59 years old, been building models since I was 8 or 9 years old. I build for fun and try not to be too complicated in my builds. I hope to share with you some of my past builds and current builds.

Big Gary here. the name fits , that's no lie. I'm into all Mopars and I'm just started building again in the fall after a 9 year break. Current projects, which I get to spend little time on are a '64 Dodge ala Little old Lady from Pasadena, a Dodge A-100 (LRW kit), and a '68 Charger.
I love the Revell '68 Charger because it has 3 different wheels, 2 engines, and an engine stand. I have 3 of them.
I just watched the video from 60's US 30 dragway all the early Super Stock cars and funny cars. Loved it. theat's about the time I started going to drags. BTW, the car movie "American Graffiti" was set (but not filmed) in the town where I grew up. Watching that movie is like going home to my teen years. And if you're wondering about the scene where the axle was pulled out from under the cop car, it's real. I read about it in the paper, and know where it happened.

Okay, guys, thought I'd done this a while ago, like last year, but uh, well I'm old and forgetful.
I'm Eric from the Pacific North West. I've been a modeler most of my life and a drag racer as much of it as could. I am the founder of a number of clubs including 2 model clubs, 4 car clubs 2 of which were Mopar clubs and 1 was a legal drag racing club and the other was less legal, not boasting about the last one (it broke up when a young lady lost her life).
I made some very bad life choices around the beginning of the century and it cost me pretty much everything. It has taken me until the last couple of years to start to recover my life including my ability to build models. I have yet to even go back to the local drag strip, but maybe this coming season. Although any passes will be in my daily driver.

Welcome Eric! Build what you can and what you enjoy. Post some pic cause we like photos. Enjoy yourself here. We may not be overly active but we have some great modelers here and all are willing to help each other. Paul

Shhh, you just said that out loud, and don't worry I won't mention the venerable leaning tower of undeniable reliability either. Oh and thanks for the welcome everyone!

Hello all! Thanks for the add. I grew up in Southern California and spent many a weekend at the drags. When I wasn't watching, I was building. It's been 40 years plus since I've seriously built anything. Started up again a couple of months ago. Boy have things changed! So many aftermarket items out there and the quality of builds I've seen, WOW! My new project is a 49 Ford Gasser. It's been fun "kit bashing" again! Somewhere in the garage is a box containing a modern version of the Freight Train that I started years ago. It's Been calling me lately, just can't find it! Lol!
My favorate drivers are, starting with Wild Willy Borsch! Others include Da Grump' Jungle Jim, Eddy Hill. Watched John Force crash and burn has way to fame at OCIR. And many more I'm sure.

Welcome mrpat, I too grew up in So-Cal. I was even at the World Finals way back in '76, '77. and '78 all of which were at OCIR. I also cut my teeth at Riveside when they were running drags on the back stretch, but admitidly most of my racing back then was on the street.
