I've been thinking about using nail polish someday on a more custom build but was wondering what is nail polish? Is it Acrylic Enamel, Acrylic Lacquer, or something else? Also, what do you thin it with?

now, guys this is a touchy subect. i have my man card out for this one...... i and my buddys have had our best results with revlon. there is another one called wet and wild (lots of crazy colors ) its a gamble with the 99 cent stuff from the discount store. we would thin with laquer thinner, about 1:1. its been a long time since i have painted with nail polish. thats my experience with it. good luck. make sure you get a couple of bottles, there is not a lot in those things.

Thanks tubbs, that's what I've been finding out, thin with lacquer with about a 1:1 ratio and test before using because some of them are pretty hot.

Thanks for your input bad440, I have a few colors I'm going to try out some day. Oh, what's the curing time on that stuff anyway?

I've got a dehydrator so that would be just fine. I usually clear my builds anyway too. That Willys looks great too.

you have to paint it two stage.i just use a quality clear.i have color sanded the same day and buffed it out. it gets harder to rub day by day Attachments:
