Picked this up recently. A member from another forum found one at a reasonable price. None of them are cheap, but this one wasn't so bad.

I started working on the '57 version of that kit last year. I need to finish it.

I'm not really a big Chevy fan, but how can a guy not have a few of the Tri 5s in his collection of gassers?

Funny, I have only a few Tri Fives in my collection, BUT I do have a real '55 "Gasser" that's been raced by my father and now myself since 1962. Originally powered by a 301 SBC by pop, my by a 427 BBC and now it's has a 320 GMC six for the past 10 years. Paul

I will say I really miss racing. Gave it up years and years ago while in the Army. As a young enlisted man, I started having to make choices between a new pair of slicks or baby food. I figured it was time to hang it up. I thought maybe I'd get back into it later, but there was always something else that took priority.
How about some photos of that '55?

Ran a pair of SS Mopars in 1972 and a Funnycar in 1973. In 1962 trim it is in the beginning of the Gold Dust Video Drag Racing on Long Island. Most of my photos of the car were lost on photo bucket. 1974 427, 4 speed street racer more than track Hosted on Fotki2005 320 GMC six and B&M Hydro-Stick street racer and nostalgia racer Hosted on Fotki

Man, I wish I had at least one of the two '65 Chevelles I owned, lots of memories.

That's a great old car. Yeah, makes me wish I had kept any of several cars I had. The '67 Barracuda would be at the top of the list, but the '69 Chevelle wouldn't be far behind it. Thanks for posting up the photos. A day at the strip would beat pretty much any way I spend my days now.
