Have this back on the bench-----about the tenth time. I am not sure if I want to do it as an early dragster or go with a Lakes car. I started with an old Hawk Slinger from 1960. The kit has NO detail so after seeing a rail type dragster from a 1959 car rag I decided to fab up a chassis to fit the old kit body. I still have a long way to go and can't decide to leave the flat motor or go with an early Desoto Hemi. This is where I am right now. I cut the body at the molded in seams to have removable body panels. The Chassis is Evergreen .093 tube and sheet. I don't remember what I jacked the flat motor from. I HAVE to finish this mess, I started this project around 1993 and I have gone too far for it to go in the dumpster. Its ugly and I think that is the reason I keep putting it back in the box. Reminds me of a lot of women I knew in the past. I have been told no matter what color you paint a pig, you still have a pig. I got a lot of paint, maybe I'll get lucky.

You can't go wrong with a flat head dragster. Can you?

That's what my wife says about me!! But to be honest I think yours has the look. Most of them weren't pretty back then, they just ran like the dickens.

Definitely something different. There were very few rear-drive Rails back then.
