The initial chassis work is in here quartermilers.proboards.com/thread/4411/birth-gassers-suspension-parts-1I have the engine set back laid out, so the next item was making the "Dog House" for the engine (Any one wants better photos of Dog House let me know), the trans cross member and motor mounts. The motor mounts are just scrap from some truck trailer kit. I had to play with them to get the 24 inch max height from crank to ground required by the NHRA. Engine is a Revell Parts Pack 421 Pontiac with a B and M Hydro Stick on it. After it's in place I can make the filler tube, shifter and other linkages. Added basic wiring to engine and need to find or make a fuel pump for it. Paul Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

very nice! I was just looking at one of those engines the other day and wondering what I was going to do with it. You guys build so fast you leave me in your dust. just like you did at the drag strip Oh shucks I wasn't supposed to admit that!

Started making up the tilt nose. Body is held on the chassis with Blu-Tac so I can locate the hinge line and fit the nose to the cowl area so it opens and closes with clearance. Paul Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki
