I have posted this here as well as at the end of the "File storage limits - may need to increase". I want to be sure and reach as many members as I can.
I have just been browsing through the images that have been posted directly to the forum and are part of the ProBoards file storage discussion. I discovered that the majority of the photos are actually in the old threads we left up on the "Tips, Techniques & Questions" board. I had decided to just leave those old threads there in case any of you wanted to browse through them looking for any tips or techniques.
So we now have a means of greatly reducing the photos in the ProBoards storage area. The question I need to pose to you members is: Would you prefer I leave the old threads up, or would you want me to delete all the old threads?
I'll leave this in your hands.

Are there stats on how much traffic to those threads over time?
If they're not visited / viewed / referenced, are the needed?

I'll have to dig around to see if there are spefic usage stats. The only stat I know of for sure would be the last time visited, but that would only tell part of the story. Of course, if nobody has visited a thread since 2013 that tells me a big story right there.

I think if no visits in 2 years dump them. That's the rule I follow on my forum. Paul

I'm beginning to lean that way on this situation. That's kind of what happened with all the old threads on the other boards.

I'd love to see them stay up. I do go back to them from time to time but if it would solve the problem delete them

As Admin you can edit the tips posts. The ones with forum hosted photos could have the photos copied to Fotki and reinserted in to the threads and the site hosted photos deleted. Cut down the site hosted photos and saves the tips.

Yeah, I know that's a possibility, but it's also a lot of danged work. And then those photos would be on my Fotki account, taking space from me.
