Nice work. I really like the extra detail your doing to the SOHC. A lot of work but it's already paying off.

I keep coming back to this thread to look at the photo of the 1:1 car doing the burnout. It puts a little tear in my eye as I recall the burnouts I did with my Cougar. Funny how attached I was to some of my previous cars without really realizing it. , I think you got the color just about right.

This is gonna be another killer. What is your process for matching the color Paul? Do you use the old spoon trick or ?. The reason I ask is a lot of the time I get in a hurry and don't test and end up with a completely different color than what I really want. For instance the roll cage on my 55 is a completely different shade of red than the stripes and the only difference is the color of the primer underneath it. Patience Allen Patience! LOL

LOL No spoons just eye ball. I start with a close base color and than use a primer coat that will darken or lighten the color and vary the number of coats to get the close shades. One thing I learned from aircraft and ship modelling is that colors change when you scale it, most times it shows slightly darker the smaller the scale. Paul

Agreed. I shoot at times on a scrap piece and shooting over black or gray or white can make quite a difference. And any kind of clear or candy color will change radically (and I mean radically) depending upon whether it's over silver, gold, white, black or whatever.
