Looks good there Paul. It's a shame Johan went under. They really had some nice race cars in their inventory. If they were still around now they could make a killing just repopping their old kits.

Nice work so far. And it's a great car to replicate.

OK. That car also had the titanium chassis. Right? Wasn't it basically a slightly modified version of this car? No big changes from this car to the red one. Right?

Here is some info. Revell Laser was the first with a M/T hemi head conversion on a Ford 427 FE engine. Second was a new car with a Ford Shotgun engine White body, Third was the second car with new body and different injection set up. All 3 had a titanium chassis. He was an innovator with the Titanium chassis and than Modular chassis Mustang Funny car Designed, campaigned (and won) and sold Hemi heads for the 421 Pontiac, the 427 Ford FE. Paul

OK. I seemed to remember the Pinto cars being the same, basic car. I ran across a guy in the mid to late 70s that had a GTO with a Hemi head motor. I don;t recall much about the car other than it was a '66 or '67 car and it had the Hemi heads in it. Oh, and it was wicked fast. He ran it at Little River, TX when I was there.

So the one you are calling the white body is the one on the johan box art. then they rebodied that chassis with the candy red body. do you have any idea where this paint scheme fits in there?

OOPS !! They were a little hard on the Pintos huh!!! Thanks I always liked these kits and wouldn't mind building a set of them someday.
I never knew the Revell laser had the MT heads on it I assumed it had a 429. I also noticed on your revel laser that it looks like you swapped out the rear end for a regular 9 inch. You mentioned there were a lot of modifications to complete this one. No hurry but sometime when you get time I sure would like to find out more about these mods. Thanks again

Thanks again The Revell Laser Pinto is correct on the engine but the chassis and balance of drive train is the same as the Boss Mustang the Hugger Camaro and the Nova Funny cars. Revells early generic chassis.

The 3 I've gotten were one on the rear quarter of a Revell 69 Camaro Z/28 , this one and a short cast Johan Mercury Comet pro stock. But both the Johans were towards the final days of the company.
