I am now using "Stockish" as one of my new words! Anyway, sadly no beginning pictures but here's a couple more old warped up-glued up messes (the black '62 Rambler was a friction car) that I tried to turn back into something decent. This old Mercury had the top crushed out to bad to save so I carved it out and installed a Breezeway top from Modelhaus resin. I even took this old die cast that was a mess all apart and rebuilt it as a Broderick Crawford Highway Patrol car! (One of my favorite old television shows!)

Very nice, David. That '62 Rambler really caught my eye. I've got a real soft spot for any AMC car. You did that one up nice!

great saves. I actually have picked up a few old neat friction and toy cars over the years to try fixing up myself. I wasn't sure any other serious modelers would appreciate those. I like the treatment on the windows on the red AMC. cool trick

I could never get those windows cleared up as well as I wanted so I decided to "tint" them. I got too heavy on the tint probably but I was still learning (still am!). A couple of the windows were cracked bad so I cut them off and painted a little "metal" strip across the top to make it look like they were partially rolled down. I did not know about clear acetate and making my own windows yet when I did these so I just "came up" with something. The old die cast was just sanding and re-painting and re-chroming some things with Alclad. The decal was done on my inkjet printer and since it went over white it was no problem. Giving these old "toys" a second life just seems to make them and me "smile" a little bit! Thanks for looking and commenting. It means a lot.

Your "fix" for the window's is a good example of solving a problem, without "Buying" a bunch of aftermarket stuff. Nice save !

Great save on all of them David. I like the Buick cause I remember watching the show on our old black and white TV back in the day. The Ramblers look great also. I never thought of fixing the glass like you did and that's a neat idea.

The red AMC wagon is the same year, model, and color of the a car I wrecked that belonged to my grandmother. She replaced it with an Imperial, which I also got to drive. I was her favorite grandchild, as you might have guessed.
