Slick trick with the pill bottles.
Great choice for an FX car. Personally I think the Wedge gets overlooked because of the Hemi, but there sure isn't a lot wrong with a properly built and tuned Wedge. Looking forward to seeing this one built.

Got the chassis finalized, rear springs slightly altered and the straight axle and springs made up and installed. The trick than was to move the front mount in around 2 inches to make the springs closer in front. From dead stop to full throttle the leaves would bind because of the angle and you'd get zero spring wrap and zero wheel hop. . . til you got caught K frame was heavily modified to the point of only 25% of it left. Last the front fenders where cut and moved forward and the fillers roughed in. Steve a Wedge verses a Hemi in S/S comes down to reaction time and luck. I ran a pair of 440 6 pack S/S Challengers, one auto and one stick. Running a Hemi 'Cuda off the line the 440 would wind up quicker. If you pulled a quick light you stood a chance of winning by a hair. All things equal the Hemi make more power on the mid and top end, wedge makes more on bottom and mid range and winds up quicker with a little higher Red Line. Wonderful as a Hemi was I'd run a Wedge every time in S/S and Pure Stock. Hosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

Thanks for that insight, Paul.
Looks like you're ready for a little putty and some sanding. Coming along nicely.

May not survive as a whole car. I like the paint very interesting pearl effect from different angles and lighting. BUT the new AMT glass is a soft plastic like a milk jug. My method of tinting the glass made the side glass cloudy but a uniform cloudiness. The back glass has on two spots frosting. I requested new glass from AMT so we'll see if I get it. I'm not really the guy who should be criticizing somebody's build, but I don't think I like the glass that's in there. It just doesn't do a thing for me.
Sorry, Paul. Not trying to be a pain. Just trying to offer an honest opinion. And I'm really thinking you wouldn't be happy with it if you left it like that. Hope AMT sends you new glass.
