Hey guys, I'm still working on my other builds here but I'm starting a new thread of a F/C chassis build. It's not going to be recreating a build of a current F/C racing team, just a build that I want to try doing using aftermarket parts as well as making my own parts. I've been collecting aftermarket parts for many years and have used them on some earlier builds. This time I want to see if I can do a buildup that is more than the usual. I plan to wire and plumb this chassis to the best I can. I may start out with some items, and I may change them out for something else that might work better. It's just something I want to try building, something I can show off, or something I can feel proud of achieving.
Here are a few pictures of what I have done so far:
The last picture is to see that I made disk brakes for this build instead of going with photo-etch parts. The holes in the disk were drilled by hand using a pin vise and a number 72 drill bit. There are 36 holes in each brake disk. The brake caliper is from a Revell Top Fuel Dragster that I cut the molded disk off and resized the mounting hole. I also modified the F/C rear axle to mount the brake caliper as well as the aftermarket wheels.

The after market goodies look really nicely done. The calipers I feel are well worth your efforts. I've got 16 pages of modelers reference on detailing F/C chassis and engines but it is all for 1975 and older. If you think it will help I'll send you the link to my album. Paul

Okay WOW, Paul! Quite the Fotki you got there! Now I have about a thousand questions for you about many of your builds. Starting with the decals you used on your Dick Landy Hemi Dart. Where did you get the decals? Also my god Dude where do you find the time for all of that building? And when did you crawl into my brain and pick so many of my build ideas out of it? And ...

Thank you, Paul, for sharing your information. , the photos are of a 1970's F/C set up, but the basics on fuel and electrical are still the same now. It does help when one can see an example in a photograph compared to just a diagram.

The decals are a combination of Slixx and the Revell Charger kit. If you look close at the Hemi Dart you'll the corrections like the master cylinder mount and torque boxes. vintagedragmodelsinc.proboards.com/thread/3910/landy-hemi-dartAs for the time my wife gives me 2 hours of undisturbed time a night for modeling while she does her office work. I lost close to 2000 photos from the Photo Bucket issue, some of the builds were even nicer than what is in Fotki now. They went back to the 1990's. Ask me about anything in there you want, I'm always glad to share. Paul

Since I'm not a member of that group, Paul, I can not see what is in that link you posted.
