Hi all. I've had this MPC Strike Force F/C in my stash for many years. Bought it in a large junkyard sale on eBay. Little did I know at the time I would end up with nearly two complete MPC funnies out of it. I got all the parts together and built it up until it was nearly finished. I used parts from some of the f/c models I had extra parts left over from. The rear wheels and slicks I got in another junkyard sale on eBay. They look perfect for this car. I modified the body by filling in the cutouts on the sides where the headers are located. I also filled in the cutouts in the front for the running lights and turn signal lights. I didn't like the blower hat that comes with the kit so I got three hats that are period correct from Comp Resins. That was as far as this build had gotten until about five days ago when I decided to paint it Testors Ruby Red Metal Flake. I first painted a base coat of Metallic Gold and let that dry. Then I added four coats of the Ruby Red over a two day period. Here are some pics of the paint job so far.
I'll be adding more pics as I finish this build. Thanks for looking.

Well, I'd say for being made of a whole lot of junkyard parts, it's looking pretty darned good.

Thanks Steve. It's almost a complete kit. It was included with the junkyard sale on eBay back in the day.

That counter top pattern has got to be the popular look in most places around the country. lol

I have been working on this build, mostly getting decals that are period correct. I also added the correct front "lights" from the Strike Force Corvette F/C kit I recently purchased. I have a few more decals coming yet for this build. Here is a recent picture I took of how it looks so far. Thanks for looking.

Nice! I never see any Vette funnies built, yours and my Beach City Chevy are the only one I can recall.

You are correct saying that about Corvette funnies, not many models of them are built even though there are many decal sheets made for them. I would like to see how many are out there that are built.

Thanks gearhead. Unfortunately I've missed out on getting a clear coat on this build. Temps where I live are too cool now for painting outside. I'll be able to finish this in the Spring next year.
