Hello all..I need some advice with spray paint. I am using Tamiya TS type paint. I want to clear coat it. I have several cans of Testors lacquer clear coat. Do any of you have experiance doing this? I know I should probably use Tamiya clear but like I said I have several cans of Testors. I guess my question is are the two brands compatible? Thanks

I've used Testers Wet Look clear on Tamiya lacquer and have had mixed results. Too heavy a coat of clear and I got very, very fine wrinkling. Paul

You should be good on the Testors clear over Tamiya paint. The Wet Look Clear says Lacquer but it's actually more of an enamel based paint. Honestly, wet look clear IMO is the best clear out there but it work ALOT better if it's decanted and shot through an Badger 350 or similar style airbrush.

Thanks for your reply's...I did a test with the Tamiya color. Let it dry for several hours and clear coated it with the Testors wet look clear. The first coat wrinkled. I waited about 10 minutes and applied a second slightly heaver coat and it looked bad. I set it aside and the next morning I couldn't believe what I was looking at! It completely smoothed out and looked great! Now I'm really confused!
