Hey, all. Just got signed up here. I've seen a couple of folks I know (Hey, Cap!). I'm Dan Himmel. I'm group owner of The StraightLineModeler at Yahoo groups, and web"master" at www.straightlinemodeler.org. If you're not familiar with our website, please check us out. We've added a lot of new stuff recently, and are always working on and looking for more content to add. We try to focus on accomplishing realism for modelers, and, by doing so, have probably ruffled more than a few feathers. That said, We work hard to make our website the best of its kind, and surely, you can find something helpful, no matter what you like to build! CHRIST.....i can't get away from you CAN I? lmao....welcome dan.... adam

Hello every one I'm new to the board. My name is Rainey I just started back to building. I mostly build old (60-70) drag cars. I also do muscle cars. David from BRP resin told me about this message board and thought I would check it out and have been impressed. I have some older builds that I'll try and get pictures of and get on here. I'm presantly working on Daddy Warbucks 65 Falcon. I'm also working on the 65 Barracuda Plymouth dealers car. Probably turn out to just be decent shelf models. I have been blessed to have a wife that also builds. We have a 72 Chevy step side p/u we race. October issue of hot rod has it in there. We done the pump gas drags. I'm gathering parts together to build a replica of the truck. I'll need to find out how to replacate the pump gas sticker on the windshield. Any help will be appreciated on how to do this. Been away from the hobbie for awhile and I am very very rusty. Hopefully I can get back into the swing but the old eyes aren't what they use to be.

I use to be a member back in 1999. Thats when I quit building. My wife and I are going to check out the meetings. I dont know that I know him. I use to own R&J Customs. I built pre wired distributors. I sold the company back in 94 or 95. I'm getting old so I cant remember those dates very good. Smilinjoe were are you located. Bowtie1 were are you located? I had the great pleasure and the wonderful opportunity of being taught by Pat Covert. I have lost all those skills tho. I use to build 1/32 Funny cars. I still have photo etched detailing kits for the 1/32 funnies. If I ever get my skills back I will put the Brutt car together. Bob Korunow (Model Car Garage) did a pair of aluminum fire bottels for the Brutt car for me. Norm Veber cast the front tires for the car. I just have to get better at seeing and quit being the disignated jiffy pop popcorn maker (shake hands). I have found out that we have lost some of the great builders from when I was building. Augie Hiscano and Ricky Couch I know there are others that have left us. I know that they are missed. Please forgive my long winded post. Just been a long time since I have really got to talk to fellow modelers. You all can thank David from brp for me being here.

My name is Bruce. I built my first model 49 years ago. It was an AMT 60 Buick convertable (They say you don't forget your first one!). Eight yearslater I got my drivers license and I pretty much gave up modeling to spend all my time at Detroit, Motorcity, and Milan Dragways. I dabbled a bit over the years, but just recently decided to get serious again. I find that the aftermarket resin and decals have got the juices flowing again. I am pretty much old school. Anything from the 60's and early 70's. I have some AWB kits 4 F/C's and a couple of S/S and a C/FX waiting to be finished. I will try to post some pic's if I can figure out how to download them. I would like to suggest a Where Can I Find It? forum as there is so much out there it can be hard to locate what your looking for. Just remember if it doesn't have a motor it's not a sport.

Welcome Bruce. It's great to have you here. As for a forum like you mentioned, I think the "Aftermarket" section of the forums would fit well for what you're asking about. Feel free to post what it is you're looking for from the aftermarket there and I'm sure you'll get an answer in short order. Again, welcome to the forums!

Greetings from Dale C , I have been looking at the fine work displayed here and the diverse subject matter. Like many of you I have been enjoying modeling for years. First as a kid in early 60s. A brief hiatus while growing through my late teens and early 30s. Got reacquainted with hobby in my early 40 s again. I have a dedicated work space now 18 x 14 foot room with a fume hood for air brushing and painting. My favorite subject matter is 60 to 70 s drag machines but I will build anything that is interesting or represents a style or type of drag racer. I will post pictures of some of my work shortly. As most of you will identify " if I had known the models I built and blew up with firecrackers as kid where collector items now I would have good retirement fund accumulated by now".. DC
