One of the other projects on the bench is yet another '68 Dart that was spared from becoming a Super Stock Dart by the fact that the guy the I got it from took all the Hemi bits out! Even the interior floor. But that's okay my collection needs a Stock GTS anyway. out of everything that I am currently building this one is the furthest along.

I like it. 383 in it? I think I build one with a 340 tri power in it. Paul

This one will have the kit decals that only have the 440 pie plate for the air cleaner. I do have another project that will have a small block LA engine in it. I started that build a while back ago but bit off way more than I could chew with that one so it is stalled until I can get a little more polish on my skills. I will update that thread so you can get a look at it and the 69 Roadrunner I was working on. Who knows I may even get the Roadrunner back into the builders' stack.

Okay, slow progress today on this but progress nonetheless. I put a couple of coats of Future on the car yesterday and today got to polishing just to see if I could lessen the color difference between the hod and the body. Not as much as I had hoped but enough that I am not willing to repaint a shelf model. Also painted the gas tank and got the first coat on the trans pan. Did a bunch of touch up on the interior and dash. I will be adding the decals to that tomorrow and finishing up the interior. the dash needs a bit more touch up but I am happy with the results so far. Defiantly not up to the standards of Steve, aka goofy62, but I can live with that. Steve is a master builder that is on Facebook and on ProBoards Mopars In Scale. The body will be resting for the next 48 hours to let the Molotow dry on the trim so tomorrow will be finishing the interior and engine assembly along with finishing the paint on the chassis. If I am lucky that should take 2 days then I can install the glass and decal the body!

There has been more progress here, but my phone disappeared the pictures. I will take fresh pics and post them soon.

Okay, so here are the small progress pics. Mostly did some detail painting on the chassis first. Did some engine painting and assembly. Still need to finish the interior and do a lot more touch-up there. The guy that is going to be installing new windows in my house was here the other day, and I think he may have looked at this one because I found the steering wheel and column on the floor after he left. They were separated when they had been one piece before, also, some of the paint was rubbed off. Prior to that event I did a mock-up and found that the interior pushes up the chassis, although when I put a bit of pressure on the nose of the car the nose comes down without much resistance. So I am thinking that the chassis is just a bit warped and when I glue everything together it will be fine.

A bit more progress here on this one... Got the chassis almost finished, a little more progress on the engine but mostly just touch up work, the interior and headliner are all painted and touched up, although it is really hard to see,

I am still bothered by the difference in the body and hood color. I can't decide if I want to strip it and repaint it or just leave it as is and finish it. I even broke one of the hood hinges already which is super easy to do with this kit. I have plenty of extra hoods in my LO23 Super Stock Hemi builds so if I strip the body and use one of the other hoods I could fix the paint all of the paint. Okay, what do you guys think? Finish it or do the best job I can and repaint it?

I myself would just finish it, but knowing your perfectionism with your builds, I'm going to say strip it and repaint it.

Yeah, that was just the nudge I needed! Thanks, Steve, for the motivation, into the acid bath (purple pond) it goes. I would not have been happy with it when it was done, because I would have known I could have fixed it. Besides, I haven't fired up the paint booth and compressor in a while. Maybe this will motivate me you get some more bodies painted too. Like the day 2 cars that have been waiting for just such a day.

Well spent part of my morning scrubbing all the residue off of the Dart. I now have slightly tinted clean fresh plastic to work with. Bodies back from the stripper and no rust. I have a solid surface to finish the bodywork I missed before and repaint the car. Let's see if I can get it right this time. I love super clean. it strips the paint all the way off without making the plastic brittle like brake fluid or oven cleaner can. Even the good old ELO would tend to harden the plastic in my experience.

So yeah didn't get around to shooting those coats of paint till a couple of days ago. The good news is the hood and the body match. The bad news is I got a run in the paint on top of the right quarter panel. Some sanding took care of most of that but now more coats of paint are needed and I am out of that paint. Fortunately, I have some more coming from EvilBay and hopefully, I will be able to finish the paint this upcoming week.
