No problem, David. Advice is always appreciated, especially from someone who has had this happen to them. I've had my share of failures as well over the years, so I know what you were saying in your earlier message. Thanks again.

I finally finished the fuel pump and installed it. I ended up using a short piece of rod and sanding one end until it fit into the hole in the front of the engine in between the blower pulleys, and gluing the shortened fuel pump to the other end of the rod. I gave it almost 24 hours to set up before actualling gluing the rod into the hole on the engine front plate. I gave it a coat of silver paint. I also painted the top of the Vertex Magneto black to finish that off. I'll install the solder fuel lines after the engine is finally glued into the chassis. As far as I'm concerned, the engine is finished. Here are a couple of photos to show how it looks in the chassis. Like I mentioned, I'm not going to make this any more complicated than I have to. I'm doing it for fun.

Building for fun should be everyone's objective Stevie! You're doing a really nice job on this project!

If it's not fun than it's work and work is not a hobby. The fuel pump came out good, in fact the entire 392 looks excellent! Paul

Whatever color you choose, just make sure you prep that body before painting as resin usually has some mold releasing agents on it and that will cause fisheyes and all sorts of other problems in your primer and paint.

Thanks, david. That is what I plan to do whenever this crazy weather here changes. Three days of rain, and possibly two more yet, before it starts to dry out.

Cool. You are obviously familiar with resin! Some fellas aren't always that experienced using resin and I've seen some real discouraging disasters happen for them so I just wanted to get it out there ahead of time just in case! You're on top of it!!

You're on top of it!! I've been building models with resin for years. It's been a while since I last prepped a resin body. I got to see if I need any new supplies for that. Thanks for reminding me.

Finally received the Testors Fiery Orange Extreme Lacquer for the VW body. Waiting on the metallic Blue paint for the chassis. Should have that after the holiday. Is there anything I need to do to the resin body before using Lacquer paint on it?

Received the Metallic Blue paint for the chassis frame. I painted the chassis frame Silver Sunday afternoon so that it would be dry to paint over. Tuesday afternoon I painted the frame with the Metallic Blue. This morning I was able to place the engine onto the frame and put the body on as well to get these couple of pictures to post. Chassis Frame painted Silver. Sorry for the poor lighting. Side view with the chassis painted. Front view. Thanks for looking.
